What Was I Thinkin'? Pt. 2

Now that we understand the power of our thoughts, and our ability to direct our minds, let’s look at how that plays itself out practically. The truth is you won’t always feel your best, and at first it won’t come naturally to think good thoughts. Acknowledging when negative and unpleasant thoughts enter our minds is an initial step. It’s no simple task to switch from thinking about things that seemingly pop into your minds automatically. It’s one thing to know the kinds of thoughts you want to avoid, but it’s a whole other thing to actively and aggressively bar those thoughts from your mind. Here are 3 practical ways you can cultivate positive and powerful thoughts:

1. Renew your mind with God’s truth. You must replace or supplement your existing thoughts with the promises and goodness of God’s word. His word is the truth and everything contrary is an unacceptable lie.

2. Develop a daily habit of reading scripture. God’s word is alive and powerful. It will regenerate your spirit and renew your mind.

3. Speak life giving words that affirm God’s truth. Your words have power. Plain and simple. Get into agreement with God and Speak the things that He promises over your life daily even when, no especially when you don’t feel like it.

AFFIRM IT:

  • I am sober minded

  • I have the divine power to speak the life I wan

  • I agree with God On all things concerning me

  • I am renewed and made whole in Christ Jesus

  • I can succeed at anything I put my mind to

SCRIPTURES:

Romans 12:2

Hebrews 4:12

Hebrews 10:23

Romans 3:4

Philippians 4:13
